Notice is hereby given that at its July 20, 2026 meeting the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of East Aurora adopted a bond resolution that authorizes a water system capital improvements project, such work to generally consist of (but not be limited to) the installation of approximately 37,000 linear feet of ductile iron water main, the installation of hydrants and gate valves, the transfer of water services to the new watermain, rehabilitation of the existing water storage tanks located on Center Street and Castle Hill Road, and the replacement of the existing booster pump station with a new hydropneumatic system on Elmwood Avenue, as well as various other improvements as more fully identified in (or contemplated by) an engineering report prepared by Barton &Loguidice, D.P.C., including all preliminary work and necessary equipment, materials, and related site work and any preliminary costs and other improvements and costs incidental thereto and in connection with the financing there of (collectively, the “Purpose”), at an estimated maximum cost of$18,717,000. Such resolution authorizes the issuance and sale of a serial bond or bonds and a bond anticipation note or notes in anticipation of the issuance and sale of such serial bonds, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $18,717,000 such amount to be offset by any federal, state, county and/or local funds received. Such resolution is subject to permissive referendum pursuant to New York law.

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for the construction of the Village of East Aurora Department of Public Works – Upper Garage Roof Replacement Project (Contract No. 1), will be received by the Village of East Aurora Clerk Maureen Jerackas, 585 Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora, New York 14052until 11:00 A.M. local time Thursday, September 25, 2025, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids will be received for the following Contract:
Contract No. 1 –General Construction: This work shall include providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the Roof Replacement Project. The project includes the work shown on the Plans and described in these Specificationsconsisting of General Construction. General Construction includes but is not limited to complete demolition and removal and replacement of the building’s existing membrane roofing and insulation system with new fully adhered Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer(EPDM) Roofing System, along with tapered and rigid roof insulation incompliance with the International Energy Conservation Code, new coping systems, and flashings. The project also includes the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials.

Bids will not be accepted from Bidders determined to be a “Non-Responsible Entity” by the New York State Office of General Services in accordance with General Municipal Law 5A-103-b. This Project is a “Covered Project” under New York State Labor Law 220-I, and each Bidder must hold a valid Certificate of Registration from the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) to submit a Bid. Each Bidder must submit a copy of their NYSDOL Certificate of Registration with their Bid at the time the Bid is made. Starting pay $19.45 up to $21.45 with Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The Village DPW is happy to hold a Spring electronic recycling pick-up event again this year. Dates of pickup will be April 28-May 2 and will be the same date as your garbage/recycling pickup. The same rules and requirements apply as last year, please place items apart from your garbage/recycling near the curb so the DPW staff can pick them up. Acceptable and non-acceptable items are listed under the Trash and Recycling page.
