ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for the construction of the Village of East Aurora Department of Public Works – Upper Garage Roof Replacement Project (Contract No. 1), will be received by the Village of East Aurora Clerk Maureen Jerackas, 585 Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora, New York 14052until 11:00 A.M. local time Thursday, September 25, 2025, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids will be received for the following Contract:
Contract No. 1 –General Construction: This work shall include providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the Roof Replacement Project. The project includes the work shown on the Plans and described in these Specificationsconsisting of General Construction. General Construction includes but is not limited to complete demolition and removal and replacement of the building’s existing membrane roofing and insulation system with new fully adhered Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer(EPDM) Roofing System, along with tapered and rigid roof insulation incompliance with the International Energy Conservation Code, new coping systems, and flashings. The project also includes the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials.

No pre-bid conference will be held; however, a site visit can be arranged by appointment at least 24 hours in advance by contacting Jeffrey Stoll at (716)652-6057. Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum(5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof.
This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Village of East Aurora prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract.
In accordance with New York State General Municipal Law Section 101 (a.k.a. “Wicks Law”), all Bidders must include with their Bid a separately sealed list naming each Subcontractor for plumbing, HVA,C and electrical work along with the amount to be paid to each.
Bids will not be accepted from Bidders determined to be a “Non-Responsible Entity” by the New York State Office of General Services in accordance with General Municipal Law 5A-103-b. This Project is a “Covered Project” under New York State Labor Law 220-I, and each Bidder must hold a valid Certificate of Registration from the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) to submit a Bid. Each Bidder must submit a copy of their NYSDOL Certificate of Registration with their Bid at the time the Bid is made. Bidders will need to ensure that each Subcontractor working under them hold valid NYSDOL Certificate of Registration before commencing any work on a covered project.
The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.
The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
